Sharma Wright was an outstanding athlete and participated in a wide variety of sports. She played fast pitch softball in the Eastern Seaboard Major League and was a major league duckpin bowler. She lettered in both Basketball and Lacrosse at The University of Maryland.
...And she is still a "killer" horseshoe player.
Sharma earned her BS and MEQ at the University of Maryland, College Park, taught and coached in public high school for 30+ years, and lives to tell the tale. She is a member of the University of Maryland Chapter of the Phi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society, and she was one of the first female Directors of Athletics in our Country.
Upon retirement, she returned to music and began studying privately with Molly Stier at Cherry Valley Music. She has become an outstanding adult pianist and is admired by all who have heard her for the sensitivity of her playing and depth of sound. She is a master gardener and the creator and illustrator of the De-Dog series.
